Maki launches "The Makeup Maki" by Beauty guru Mai Al Moayed

The  Make-up Maki is the latest addition to Maki’s extensive menu. Maki approached Mai  Almoayed, Bahrain’s very own make-‐up guru who is also a make-up artist. She founded The  Make-up Manual and  hosts professional classes to educate women about  make-up and skincare. Maki approached Mai to design her own maki.
The Make-up Maki is an explosion of flavors for one’s taste  buds, with ingredients that create a  harmony of decadent  taste. The  Make-up Maki incorporates tempura prawn, avocado, rice pearl, wasabi flakes, drizzled extra virgin olive oil, topped  with chopped tempura, cherry tomato, cucumber, carrots, thakwan, spring onion, and  lastly,  a drizzle of mango and strawberry sauce.
I personally loved the sushi as it wasn't too overpowering with the taste of raw fish and was just the way I like my sushi!
The concept of the maki is to portray the beauty of make-up and colorful palettes,  with  a surprising twist of flavorful ingredients. In addition, the vibrant maki reflects Almoayed’s  lively and fun personality, which is essential in namesake dishes. The  Make-up  Maki officially launched on Thursday, November 21.

Visit Maki at World Trade Center to try The Make-up Maki – which is not only visually beautiful, but will excite your taste buds!

With Mai al Moayed, Ali and Mohammed

Favourite Products update!

Its been a while since I updated you guys about products I've been loving. Every month, without fail, I get introduced to new products- Either by my blogger friends, family , my BFF or just word of mouth. And with every product that I buy, I've either hated them , felt they were a waste of money (product now on my dressing table collecting dust) or I've loved them and they've become part of my routine and I'd actually go back and buy more.

So to start with, Lets say hello to my new lipstick. Now, you guys know I love my reds. I have about 6 shades of red, but that will never stop me from buying another one. This Chanel lipstick from the velvet collection was an unplanned buy. I had time to kill after work so I quickly popped into Sephora and tried on a few lipsticks. As I tried on the velvet range, and how great it felt on application and how sexy it looked after application, I knew it had to be mine. So obviously, I had to pick it up. Ladies, trust me. These are great and are long lasting even after you've downed a few cosmos!
Ok now, these are two oils I'm LOVING at the moment. Both serve completely different purposes so lets start with Green Bar Inc's Hazelnut and lavender oil. Its baby oil and leaves my skin feeling super soft! I only have to apply a coin sized amount on both hands and although its slightly oily at first, after massaging the product in, it quickly vanishes and you'll just want to keep touching your hands. Bonus if you have someone else who wants to touch your hands ;)
I'm obsessed with long lashes and so I've been applying a mixture of castor oil and Vitamin E oil on my lashes with a mascara wand every night before I sleep. Its been a month now and I can safely say that this product has definitely helped. Its also a good thing to add in aloe vera gel to the mixture as it has thickening properties. Who doesn't want long lashes? So yeah, I highly recommend this and I highly recommend adding aloe vera gel while applying.
I can't say enough good things about Benefit's "Hello Flawless" powder. The best thing about it is that it comes with a sponge and a brush so after your foundation you can either put the product on with the brush for a sheer finish or pat on with the sponge for extra coverage! This one is definitely a product that I don't think I'd ever change, Just like my MUFE foundation I raved about in my previous product update post.
I received a sample of Giorgio Armani's Eyes to Kill mascara at a Saks blogger event and ever since, any other mascara I've used has just failed in front of this one.I actually went back and bought one. That's the power of a good product!
Now I'm not the one to spend 21 BD on a mascara but this one is definitely worth it! There's "Eyes to kill" and "Eyes to kill Excess" I love and recommend both if you want long, super dramatic eyes. I also love that it kinda smells like honey.
Another hair oil apart from my fav TBS strawberry seed dry oil, is Kerastase's Elixir Ultime. I use two pumps on damp hair before blow drying  and it leaves my hair super shiny, soft and smelling absolutely DIVINE. I need to top up my buy on this.
Who needs extractions when you can treat black heads at home? I don't have many blackheads but I use this because along with black heads and white heads, these babies pull out any impurities that's clogging your pores. I love how smooth my nose and forehead feel after I've pulled out the patch. I recommend the Nivea Refining clear up strips to any one who has a problem with black heads or whiteheads. You can even see all the impurities after you've pulled the patch out! It also pulls out hair so brownie points for that!

Have any favorite products? I'd love to try them! Go on and leave a comment. xxoo

Currently Loving...

I’m usually the kind of girl that doesn't switch products very often, but when I do, It’s only because I’ve found something better than the ones I have been using till date. So when I do fall in love with a new product and I’m 100 percent sure that it’s there to stay, you know it’s a really really good one. So let me introduce you to the new loves in my life. Let’s start with…

Foundation:
I’ve always been faithful to MAC’s Studio Fix fluid. Always. On the positive side, it has great coverage and is super easy to blend in, but it is also the worst foundation to use during the summer because it can get super greasy. So my current favorite foundation for this time of the year is Makeup forever’s HD foundation. It is lightweight, has medium coverage and doesn’t get oily on the face as MAC does. So thumbs up for MUFE and I declare it AWESOME. For Indian skin tone, I suggest you pick your shade from the yellow undertones and not the pink one. Ask the MUFE makeup artist at Sephora for help. She will even give you samples you can take home so you can see if you like the color in natural lighting and be sure before you actually make a purchase.

Lips:
I’m the kind of girl that gets tempted to buy lipsticks and lip glosses only because of how great the packaging is and I end up using 2 out of the 10 that I buy. Yes, I know, Shame on me. Although I do use my lipsticks on occasions and night out’s, I find it extremely hard to use gloss. I don’t know why. Maybe it’s the texture or the fact that when there’s a slight breeze my hair sticks to it and I get very annoyed. I also hate the fact that most glosses dry up on the lips and leave a very icky residue. Gross, I know. But girls, I’ve ditched my lipsticks for about two weeks now and have been using two great products that have completely won me over. Firstly, I have to thank my best friend for introducing me to my current (and definitely going to be forever) favorite lip gloss ever. It’s called “Best Kiss” by Liplicious from Bath and Body works. Now I hate colored gloss. I cannot stand it. But this genius product is clear on the lips when applied and minutes later, It turns a soft, natural looking pink! And I kid you not when I say it tastes DELICIOUS.
Another one and a slightly more expensive one when compared to BBW is the  Clinique Chubby Stick that I religiously wear to work. It’s not exactly gloss. It’s more like a moisturizing balm for lips. Although it looks like lipstick, on application, it’s almost translucent and gives a very natural looking color. So thumbs up to both. I swear by these two lip products but if I had to pick out of the two, It would have to be the gloss by Bath and Body Works.

Hand Creams:
As you all know, I’m OCD when it comes to moisturizing my hands. I have about 3 hand creams on my desk at work, one in my hand bag and countless at home. I hate having dry hands but at the same time, I hate creams that make the hand oily. I’ve raved about Sally Hansen’s Smooth and Perfect before and although this is still an office desk essential of mine, I now have a handbag essential. The Body Shop’s Almond hand cream is amazing. It leaves the hand extremely soft and supple. I was introduced to this product by the store staff itself, after I walked in and asked what their best selling hand cream was. And you know what? I’m not surprised. So girls, when it’s date night and you don’t want him to let go of your hand, slap on some of this genius product before heading out, or at intervals. Speaking of dates, Put on the Bath and Body Works lip gloss as well. Bonus points, I promise.

Product Review :The Body Shop

As you all know, I've loved The Body Shop ever since I can remember and they only seem to keep impressing me with all the new products, be it an exclusive new celebrity collaborated collection or a single product on its own. I've already proclaimed to the world via Instagram and my FB page about the Tea Tree Oil and the Strawberry seed dry oil and all the wonders they have worked for me.
I've recently just added a few more products on my favorite's list and here's why...

Brazil Nut Cream body scrub: (Highly Recommended + )*
I kid you not when I say that this product is seriously mouth watering. It smells SO GOOD, you will want to eat it.I also love it because it's a perfect pampering product every girl must own. It scrubs off and exfoliates all the dryness off of your body and leaves the skin feeling soft and clean. The best part is that it's not too harsh on skin, unlike other exfoliating scrubs, and the creamy formula makes it super easy to apply. If you ever happen to go to the mall anytime soon, stop by TBS and take a whiff of this baby.
* For use in the shower only. Perfect for dry elbows and knees even!
Confession time- I actually tasted a little bit because, well...it smells THAT good.

Japanese Cherry Blossom spray: (Perfect fragrance for summer)
I wear perfume only at special events or night out's because I tend to stick to softer body sprays during the day time. There's something very sensual about smelling like delicate floral notes in the morning as opposed to strong smelling perfumes. Don't get me wrong, I love my Chloe Intense and Extreme Aigner, but I think its best to save such scents for the evening. That is why this Japanese cherry blossom spray is perfect to use on an everyday basis. It smells amazing and it's a very convenient size too. Easy to carry in my handbag to work, so double points for that!

Vitamin C skin Boost: (Highly Recommended)*
I dare you to not like this product. I have been using this ever since the "Pulse" event at The Body Shop, where it was a part of the goody bag and I have been using it till date. The formula is very very different from anything I've ever used before and it smells like oranges. It's not a serum exactly, more like a skin boosting primer. On application, it feels like silk on your skin just for 3 seconds and it completely blends in, which is amazing! I use this product as a base before I apply my makeup and even on no makeup days, I use it as a moisturizer. TRY THIS OUT.
* For Oily Skin: Don't use too much of the product, just a tiny pump for the face.

Vitamin E Cool BB Cream (Must try)
Finding the right foundation shade to suit your skin tone is always such a task and after the invention of BB creams, the same hunt began for the right color.I even have a few friends who do not use BB creams just because they don't want to go around looking for the exact color. Here's where the Vitamin E BB cream is perfect . It comes in one shade that suits all! Its hard to believe, but it really does. My sister is fairer than I am and both of us are using it. Amazing right? It has light-medium coverage and blends in very easily. Leaves  my skin feeling fresh and gives it a natural glow.  #Win

So until I discover more amazing products, Do try these out and leave your comments below and feel free to share your favorites with me too !

Product Review- Rimmel and Sally Hansen

As you all know I've been raving about the Kate Moss for Rimmel Lipsticks on my FB page and Instagram lately, ever since I found the perfect red lippie in Rimmel, for the black tie event I had to attend in London in February. After that, I've purchased so many different shades and I love how smooth the texture is and the fact that it smells so delicious. I always get questions on what lip color I'm wearing and it always answers to Rimmel !
Moving on, I recently had the chance to try on some more products from Rimmel and it turns out I have a few new favorites! The best part is that most of these products are easy to review as you don't need a week or two to see the effects.

Sally Hansen Smooth & Perfect hand cream (Try it)
This hand cream has now become a part of my 'office desk essentials'.It smells great and keeps the hand moisturized. My favorite aspect that it isn't very oily and yet manages to make my hands soft and supple. If you're like me and have the obsessive need to moisturize your hands every one hour, you will love this product.

Scandaleyes lycra flex mascara (Recommended)
Amazing product.Thick brush for easy application.(Tip: Apply three coats for dramatic eyes.) Lashes are even easy to curl post application.

Rimmel gel liner: (Genius product, Highly recommended)
Now I've always been a lakme liquid liner girl for about 7 years now, but I have got to say that I'm in love with the gel liner.I have tried so many liquid liners till date and hated all of them. None of the liners gave me precision as Lakme did, until now.
Apart from the smart packaging where the lid converts into a brush, the consistency is so smooth and the long handle makes application super easy.I have always received compliments on the way I wear my liner and trust me on this ladies, you have got to try the gel liner by Rimmel. It is insanely dark and wont smudge. I wore it to work today and it hasn't smudged one bit! P.S: Still wearing my liner as I type this post.

Sally Hansen Salon Finish nail polish (Must Try)
If you follow me on instagram, you all know about my insane nail polish collection. The color I have on below is in "Pumice". Its a duck-egg sort of grey and while usually I'm not the one to lean onto such colors  I somehow love this one.My colleagues also tried on the nail paint and strangely it suits every skin tone! Plus the Sally Hansen salon finish gives a glossy appearance and dries instantly.

Sally Hansen Brow tweezer (Must buy)
Every woman needs a good pair of tweezers. Now I don't shape my brows. The last time I had them shaped was six months back. I get them shaped once in a blue moon and pluck out all the extras myself, and thanks to Sally Hansen, my job is so much easier now. It has such a good grip and works like a dream, even on the bushiest of brows.

Rimmel 9 in 1 BB Cream
The color is a little too light for my skin tone so I really cant actually use the product, but I'm being economical and am using small amounts of it as a brightener under my eye. The consistency however is good and blends in easily. So thumbs up to that.

Kate Moss for Rimmel lipsticks (Highly Recommended)
Haven't I raved about this product enough? Need I say more?

Have you guys had the chance to try on any of these products? Feel free to leave in comments or any questions you may have.
