Plush Delights

I recently had the opportunity of working with Plush Delights, A name known in the Middle East for their array of high quality acrylic clutches or ‘delights’ as the founders, Jyoti Mittal and Wafa Rauf like to call them.
I like to pick up statement accessories that are great conversation starters and as I was introduced to these delights, I certainly was impressed. The delights come in a range of colors and styles, from clear colored to fiercely studded and text placement acrylic boxes that suit any occasion.
Clear Perspex is trending and a lot of women seem to oppose the rage, because  they would rather have the contents of a women’s bag be ‘private’. But here’s the chance to show off that cute coin purse that’s lost in an oversized bag or that gorgeous lipstick where the casing is prettier than the shade. Miniature perfume bottles and embellished pens are all great accessories to add into transparent bags. I personally think that clear clutches are perfect for parties and seeing that it’s the festive season, these delights seem even more appropriate. Of course, you would want to secure your cash or card into a card holder and then throw them in before you go out around town looking fabulous. With emphasis on innovation, style and quality, each delight is a star on it’s own!

Plush delights stocks at Vallydez Dubai and operate in the Middle East but they do ship worldwide. Prices range from 35-70 BHD depending on the style and detailing of the selected item.
To know more about Plush Delights and place your order, which I highly recommend, check out @plush_delights on instagram and whatsapp +973 33842040 / +973 38453607 to order.

Jewel Tones

The year is coming to an end. One more month to go and it’s a new year, which calls for a fresher look for the blog. While the entire team is busy with our rebranding that will launch by the 1st week of 2015, we’re also hosting a holiday giveaway next month. 4 amazing giveaways await 4 lucky readers. Because it’s going to be more Facebook – related, I suggest you like our page by clicking HERE if you haven’t already. We partnered with Swarovski last year and this season we’ve partnered with some amazing beauty and cosmetic brands. Stay tuned for the 1st giveaway to be announced on December 1st.
Moving on to my outfit, I wore a sateen 3 D sequin print dress to a late lunch date with the crew and threw on my favorite velvet crop top over, just to add in a mix of textures. The sun is still out and shining bright (evident from the light reflecting off of my dress) so it’s hard to wear thick layers. Until then, layering lighter pieces is a safer option and a more comfortable one too.

OXBLOOD

If it isn't obvious already, Oxblood / Merlot is my favorite color. I'm not your typical pink -loving girl. I prefer darker shades and 70% of my closet is rick in deep jewel tones and black.
Today I threw on my favorite swing dress over this rich plum collared shirt. Because the weather is pleasant with chilly breezes at night, I decided to wear my burgundy tights to match the shirt. If you look closely, my bag is also burgundy and no, it's not an over- kill of the color as the 3 shades of rich red are tonally different.
Try it out yourself. I love mixing different textures of black for the night while I stick to tonally different colors for the day time.
On a different note,The holidays are around the corner and like every year, we're going to be hosting a holiday giveaway soon. Watch out for the announcement on my Facebook page by simply clicking here. Don't forget to got like to get the notification on your news feed!

Velvet Royalty

For those of you who don't know, apart from my full-time job as brand manager, I'm also a freelance designer. I love designing my own clothes, mostly party wear. I have had 3 showcases- 2 in Bahrain and one in India where I managed to sell most of my creations. I take orders from clients and custom- make garments to suit my customers.

Moving on to my outfit here, this elaborate full- circle skirt is meters and meters pure organza that I designed for my graduating show in college. I didn't want to sell this beauty,as the skirt was part of the showstopper outfit for my show. If you follow me on instagram, you know that I've over-used this velvet cropped top that I recently got stitched. I wear it with everything! Over dresses, mini skirts and even lehengas! Follow me on instagram @askthestylecouncil to see the ways I styled the top.

I will be making more crop tops and more elaborate ones to suit a few occasions that I have lined up. I also love how this look is so wearable to weddings and festive events. The full-ness of the skirt is extravagant enough without being heavily embroidered and an over-the-top necklaces acts as the bling factor! I personally love huge skirts and cropped top combos, what about you?

Blueberry-Orange martini

I'd forgotten how much I loved this cobalt blue circle skirt - I had previously paired it with black to be more safe, but this is a fresher take on the color going tone on tone. And yes, My obsession with crop tops isn't over and I think it's going to stay for a long, long time.

Moving On, the bright orange clutch adds a nice pop of color and is a great accessory for the current season.I cannot wait to pair this with a hot pink or maybe a rich emerald green.Remember- when color blocking, try not to exceed 3 colors else you'll just end up looking like crayola threw up on you.2 colors are safe and 3 are fresh and daring, if combined with thought.

On a more personal note, as mentioned in my previous post, last month has been terrible for me and it isn't getting any better. I guess I'll just have to stick it out and sit until we cross the dark tunnel right? Sigh.
My foul mood continues and it's only a matter of time before I explode.
