The Classic Trench

I love me a well-fitted, classic black trench coat for fall. It is the most versatile piece of winter clothing to own, as you can dress them up or down depending on the occasion. White tan colored trench coats are also great, I think they're more day- appropriate but a black coat is perfect for any time of the day.
Be it work or a night out, work with jeans , dresses or pant-suits, a trench coat can take any outfit from boring to fabulous in a matter of minutes.
My only advice would be to invest in a good quality suit-material coat that will last long. Un-structured coats can make you look shabby and felt coats can attract all dust and lint, making it impossible to maintain.
In this look, I wore a gold embossed tulip dress underneath my trusty trench so that the metallic color pops from under neath without being too over-the-top. Snakeskin print metallic shoes and a bright pink pout to match my clutch added as an accent color without stealing the focus from the coat.
I personally love trench coats, what about you? How would you style yours?

Jewel Tones

The year is coming to an end. One more month to go and it’s a new year, which calls for a fresher look for the blog. While the entire team is busy with our rebranding that will launch by the 1st week of 2015, we’re also hosting a holiday giveaway next month. 4 amazing giveaways await 4 lucky readers. Because it’s going to be more Facebook – related, I suggest you like our page by clicking HERE if you haven’t already. We partnered with Swarovski last year and this season we’ve partnered with some amazing beauty and cosmetic brands. Stay tuned for the 1st giveaway to be announced on December 1st.
Moving on to my outfit, I wore a sateen 3 D sequin print dress to a late lunch date with the crew and threw on my favorite velvet crop top over, just to add in a mix of textures. The sun is still out and shining bright (evident from the light reflecting off of my dress) so it’s hard to wear thick layers. Until then, layering lighter pieces is a safer option and a more comfortable one too.

Tartan

It’s that time of the year again where Mother Nature plays her pranks on us. I stepped out of the house in just 10 denier tights and flats last week but it  was cool enough for  me to change my mind and step into my favorite faux-suede boots. It’s a good thing I carried spare shoes, because in a matter of hours the sun was out again, shining in all it’s glory which made me switch back to flats.

Take today for instance:  It was great ‘semi-chunky knit weather’ when I woke up but come lunch break , where I had to step out of the office and it was warm again. It’s easy to layer up and step out into chilly weather but it’s twice as hard to stay in them if the climate gets warmer. My advice would be to add layers that can be removed, like a jacket or a knit cardigan. This way you’re not sweating up to a point where’re you're uncomfortable. Also, save boots for the night as they are so much more comfier when there's no sun this time of the year.  I say throw on a kick-ass pair of ankle boots and work your way through the day and go tights-less during the night with knee high boots and a cute LBD.

OXBLOOD

If it isn't obvious already, Oxblood / Merlot is my favorite color. I'm not your typical pink -loving girl. I prefer darker shades and 70% of my closet is rick in deep jewel tones and black.
Today I threw on my favorite swing dress over this rich plum collared shirt. Because the weather is pleasant with chilly breezes at night, I decided to wear my burgundy tights to match the shirt. If you look closely, my bag is also burgundy and no, it's not an over- kill of the color as the 3 shades of rich red are tonally different.
Try it out yourself. I love mixing different textures of black for the night while I stick to tonally different colors for the day time.
On a different note,The holidays are around the corner and like every year, we're going to be hosting a holiday giveaway soon. Watch out for the announcement on my Facebook page by simply clicking here. Don't forget to got like to get the notification on your news feed!

Dusty Rose

With occasional cool breezes on the island at the moment, I can't help but swap to frosty tones for afternoon brunches with the girls. I prefer dusty pink to bright pinks for my skin tone and this body con dress was just to perfect to wear. And because I believe in showing skin in moderation, a lurex cardigan in the same shade worn back ways added elegance to this outfit. Boat necks are so much better than deep V necks for fall, which is why I threw this cardigan on back ways. Taupe and nude accents added dept to my outfit, while keeping the tone balanced. White would be too bright and black would be too much of a clash. Sometimes in between is what you need to go for to achieve the perfect balance of colors.

While in summer my legs are always bronzed with a shine, I like to bring out my illusion stockings to mattify my skin and leave no hint of shine whatsoever.Stockings are great for the current weather and I am all about different deniers and colors!

Life is better in Denim

Often in my life, (being a blogger with a full time job) There are days that require me to be on the move, constantly. From 7 to 9, where the day starts at the office and ends in a fancy restaurant, there’s no time for complete outfit changes. On such days, a good pair of denims, are I need to masquerade myself to suit different occasions.
A perfect pair of jeans is not only a wardrobe staple, but is also timeless and classic and will never go out of style. It’s always better to spend on quality denim that will last you a lifetime than looking for deals.
While trousers are ideal for my work atmosphere, so are dark wash denims. A well fitted pair is crucial to looking sharp and smart, as opposed to sloppy.  And on days when I need to have 3 outfit changes, a pair of the perfect denims takes me from business- casual to a night out, effortlessly and in style. Be it work, a casual brunch with friends, grocery shopping or a glamorous VIP product launch, Denims, if styled well can cover them all. Life is truly better in Denim.Below are the images to support my journey with one pair of jeans, worn three different ways, in the same day.

My perfect pair is from Salsa, What about yours?
