Blue Lace and Houndstooth

I've always loved textures more than plain fabric and this houndstooth skirt was a steal at SPLASH!
I am all about this below the knee skirt length and obviously crop tops and I cannot say it enough. I paired the black and white skirt with a bright colored lace crop top and painted a white necklace with hot pink nail polish to add in a hint of extra color. See through jelly Furla and patent black pumps to complete the look ? But of course.
Midi skirts are perfect for work so don't shy away from picking up a few in basic colors like black, tan and navy . Paired with a collared shirt, they scream out sophistication and is definitely going to earn a spot in your wardrobe staples. Pair them with low heeled pumps if you're short or pointed toe flats if you're tall and slim to look flirtatiously feminine! I highly recommend houndstooth with colored basics like a blouse or patent shoes. Think yellow, red and emerald green. Black is a safe bet.
I cannot wait to work this texture for winter with deep burgundy and a turtle neck!

Moving on, Sale season is upon us. Are you ready ladies?

Shirt over Tee + A fact about Me

A lot of you guys have emailed me and even posted questions on my instagram account about how I always maintain my hair and how I walk in heels all the time. The truth is, I don't. I don't always let my hair loose or wear high heels. I always have a pair of flats with me if I know I have to do a lot of running around after a shoot.Because let's be practical here. I would never wear heels to the mall or on a busy day.You do not need heels to look stylish. I changed into sneakers after this shoot because I had a long, busy day ahead and I did not want to be prancing around in strappy heels. Also, I like to save my heels for an occasion or a night out.
For work I have 2 pairs of 4 inch heeled pumps, one in nude and one in black. I also keep a pair of sturdy black flats at work, in case of sudden, unexpected work trips to mall, that involves a lot of running around.

Moving on to my look in this post, I love the idea of wearing casual shirts- be it checked or striped over a tank top or cuter placement print Tee shirts to bring a bit of edge to the look. Layering is key for me and I love pairing my shirts with Tee's, Jumpers and vests.Knot em up, Tuck them in or half in, half out and that's a little trick to wear the shirt. Don't let the shirt wear you.

Black Beauty

Three things that amplify evening glamour are- the color black, chiffon and rhinestones. These three things are all you need to incorporate into your outfit for a glam evening look! I never get the chance to do outfit posts before I attend events in the evening so I thought why not wear an outfit that I would wear for a night out and share it with you guys!

As you all know about my on-going love affair with crop tops, this knit tee had to make a comeback on my blog, and don’t be surprised if it keeps coming up. I’ve gotten so much use out of this piece of garment already; I can’t wait to share some layering tricks with you when winter approaches.

Until then, go buy yourself a black full sleeve crop top, and keep seeing how I style them. Oh and do leave your thoughts below and join my page on Facebook, here.

The High Rise

Why do women with curves shy away from high waisted pants? I recently asked a friend to try out high waist pants and she asked me to wear one and post it on the blog , after which she would consider the possibility of investing in one.
Now ladies, I'm not saying they're made for everyone but if you have an hourglass figure, a slender frame with a tiny waist, or a good waist : hip ratio, high rise pants were made for you! I personally love them with formal full sleeved cropped tops, over-sized chiffon blouses tucked in or with a cropped jacket , so you can show off your waistline.
On another note, I cannot get enough of knitted crop tops. I loathe cropped tees, but love cropped blouses and delicate knitted ones and cant seem to find many shops that carry a good range. If you guys do come across any place that carries a good collection of cropped blouses, do let me know!

Sheer Delight

Before I started my career, I used to ONLY wear black, grey and navy. I never realized it until someone at the office asked me about it. I went home that evening and it hit me. 96% of my closet was dark. The rest 4% was white. Even shoes! Can you imagine? I started experimenting with color about 4 years back and ever since, I've mastered the art of balancing colors in all my outfits. But every now and then I like to go bacl to an 'all black' look - who doesn't?
So on days when I'm in a hurry or have no time to think about what to put together, I turn to basic color combinations- white and black, denim and black, all black or all white. In this look, I decided to work the classic denim and black combo. To add a bit of quirk, I slipped into my hot pink mid- heel pumps and carried a nude bag to complete the look. Easy, fuss free and chic in 10 minutes. All black with a bright colored bag or a pair of shoes work well too. Try it out yourself.

Tropical Punch

I'm going to be honest and tell you guys that I'm suddenly loving more tees + skinny jeans combos. I love 3/4th sleeve jersey tees . I think it makes the wearer look chic and stylish even if you haven't put in any effort to styling at all. All you really need is some gold / rose gold permanent bracelets, great shoes- and by these I also mean slip-on's and a great bag. Yep. I'm all about relaxed chic at the moment so I'm loving prancing around town in flats and casual tops.
P.S: I only wore these shoes to the shoot, I changed into suede cobalt blue ballet shoes afterwards! :D I've also come to learn that I like to save my dressy heels for occasions. If I'm going to wear my pretty skyscrapers all the time, where's the mystery / fun left in getting all dressed up for a night out? Don't get me wrong, Being well dressed all the time is the way to go, but who said linen mix tees and a perfectly fitted pair of dark wash denims wasn't?
