Photo Diary: My Sister's Bridal Shower

With the help of my favorite people in the world and Passion Restaurant and Lounge, Adliya, I was able to organize a beautiful and memorable shower for the bride-to-be, a.k.a my sister.
While deciding on a location that has a beautiful ambiance, Excellent food and great service, Passion won hand's down! If you guys haven't been there yet, you really should.( Read my previous post about the place HERE. )
I love the fact that they have ample space for any occasion, be it a dinner date with a loved one, a birthday dinner with your friends or even a rooftop post- graduation party with family and good friends. Chef Nadeem even cooked us some delicious finger food to add to the excitement of the Bridal Shower. Mini burgers (for both my veg and non-veg friends), veg spring rolls with a Thai twist, open faced canapes, chicken samosas and colorful drinks like, mango, pink lemonade and lime juice were all vanishing quickly from the table and yet we still didn't run out of food. Being extremely picky with my food I don't simply endorse any place or brand or restaurant. If I love it, I rave about it! It's as simple as that!

On another note, have a looksie at the paper flower decor and the paper oven boxes! Can you tell they're handmade? Yep. By my incredibly talented BFF / part-time photographer and love, Suaad Mohd.

To conclude, the pictures show what a great day it was and here's wishing my sister all the best for her big day, which BTW is approaching super fast, hence the lack of posts! Forgive me? Pretty please? :)

P.S: Chef Nadeem from Passion has some really great recipes on Youtube. To try out some of his masterpieces at home you can click HERE for some tutorials. If you're a bad cook, well, head over to Passion now!

Thanks to @BALLOONCREATIONZ for the bridal shower balloons, Rachna for the delicious handmade cupcakes,Suaad Mohd for the hand made decor,Passion Restaurant Adliya and every one who came to make it such a great event!

Amwaj Marina Market

Did you guys happen to visit the Amwaj Marina Market recently? There were lots of stalls selling items from clothing to bags, shoes and accessories. Among the many stalls, was this gorgeous little stall selling colorful Indian wear.As you all know, I have a weakness for Indian wear and because Bahrain presents me with very few opportunities to deck up in saris and anarkalis, my fondness for heavy Indian wear has increased over the years.
I'm happy to announce that my friend will soon have an instagram account to sell these gorgeous pieces! Stay tuned for the next few posts that follow for details about how and where to place your orders.

On a style note, how are you guys liking the weather? Although I'm super lazy these days, I love the winder and I've been piling on kilos thanks to comfort food.
P.S : 15 days until my sister's BIG day. For more frequent posts, follow me on IG @askthestylecouncil !

Basics Shmasics

As much as I love my basics on a casual day out with my girlfriends, I sometimes frown upon the thought of wearing an over-sized tee and leggings, unless I've got my hair done.

My solution? I pick out my favorite basics and wear them together. These super skinny "Alice" jeans from Mango are my favorite. They're tight in the right places and I love the wash and how they are super stretchy and look so classy, day or night
Moving on, another favorite of mine, this plain black chiffon blouse is so versatile, it takes me from work to a dressy dinner and even relaxed shopping trips to the mall! Girls, if you don't, You must own chiffon blouses in black and white. Trust me, you're going to get a lot of use out of them.
Flats are my favorite for weekends, and so my comfiest pair ever, make an appearance in this post.
A blazer would have been an obvious choice, so a safari jacket to up my style quotient a little? Yes please!

Cardigan twist

If you've been following my blog for a while now, you guys know how I hate working with the ordinary. I will wear a skirt as a top, a belt as a head band, a dress as a top and etc.

I fell in love this this knitted gold cardigan from Mango. It's a beautiful waterfall cardigan in a soft lurex knit. I love that you can take it from day to night. Lurex cardigans are perfect for a night out, especially for the chilly nights we are facing at the moment on the island.

I  choose to wear my cardigan differently as you can see in this post. The best part about cardigans that have some shine in them is that you can wear it over basics and still make it look effortlessly cool. You can pait them with jeans, over dresses and even belt it with a maxi dress!
So waiting to wear this over a little black dress on my next dinner date!
